Double Decaf Mocha? Espresso Gets An Update
The much talked about Espresso, a powerful Text Editor built by the team at MacRabbit, who also brought the world renowned CSSedit, has finally received some major updates.
For the people who do not know about espresso, I will give you a little run down…
Espresso is a text editor that has been touted as the long awaited rival to CODA, a very popular text editor. Focused on bringing some of the great features of CSSedit, to an all round text editor. Whether you be writing in basic HTML and CSS, to PHP, JavaScript, C and many more. If you want more info visit the MacRabbit Espresso page.
The team at MacRabbit have improved many of the bugs that annoyed a lot of customers. It looks like they have all been ironed out. The bugs had made people slow the switch from CODA to Espresso, but now with this new release, a lot more people are going to start jumping ship.
They have also added a Project Manager, a revamped workspace, image preview, better FTP and much more can be found on the Espresso features page.
A personal love besides the fact that it is now very stable and feature packed, is you can personalise your Project Manager Icons. Change the colour of the folder and add an icon of your choice and it embeds the Icon onto the folder like a rubber stamp. See below for an example.
The 1.1 release of Espresso is looking great, and I have not found any faults to date. Try it out, I think you will be pleasantly surprised at just how good Espresso is and you will find it very hard to go back to programs such as Dreamweaver, TextMate and CODA.
