I Demand Better! Customer Service From Start To Finish…And After
Customer Service, not something you hear from a web designers point of view who works in a company, but as a Freelancer, Customer Service is very important as you have the complete responsibility of carrying every aspect of it out.
As a Freelancer, customer service often goes overlooked or put back on the priority list. This is something that should NOT be put back on your priority list. Customer Service should be high up in this list matching your actual design work.
As the saying goes “A happy customer is a good customer”.
What commonly gets forgotten in customer service with freelancing is the follow up. After you have delivered all your required work, it is extremely important to follow up your work, a week or two after.
A follow up can be very simple, a short email asking how the product/service is going, if the client is pleased with the deliverables and their expectations have been met.
Example:
Hi John, just seeing how yourself and the staff ate going with the new website? Are your customers happy with the website? Please feel free to contact me anytime with any questions you and or your staff may have.
Something even as informal as in the example above, will be sure to make your client just that little more happy. And also increasing the odds of gaining referrals from your client.
Customer service can be more than just this though, it’s going that extra mile for your client, maybe adding a little something extra for free, offering them a cheaper solution that will give the same result as a higher prices solution.
There is plenty more to customer service that we could discuss but customer service is such a broad subject and can differ from business to business.
Research customer service more and find out how to give more to your clients and you will see some great results.
